University Computer Hardware and Software Standards

The University recognizes that hardware and software is in constant flux and, consequently, is committed to revising these standards as necessary to meet the needs of its members. The following documents were developed by the Technology Standards and Services Task Force, whose members include representation from all divisions of the University. The documents are then reviewed and approved by the University Technology Steering Committee. The current software standards are designed to run on the Windows XP Professional platform.

IT Survey & Findings

The Information Technology Steering Committee developed a technology survey for all Â鶹´«Ã½ students, faculty, and staff. This anonymous survey was designed to help New Â鶹´«Ã½ City University to identify the technology needs and preferences of its students and to assess the technology resources and services that are currently available at the University. The results of the survey will be used to assist the University to enhance its technology resources and services and plan for future innovations.

Of the seven University-Wide Student Learning Goals, The Department of Information Technology provides the framework for Goal #5: Students will demonstrate effective information and technology literacy skills. This support is evaluated in accordance with the Center for Teaching and Learning's Matrix of Six Key Elements in Program Assessment.
