Admitted first-year student and transfer students (with less than 60 credits) whose family adjusted gross income (AGI) of $65,000 or less according to their 2022 income tax return (or verified income).

Students must apply for admissions by the Priority deadline for fall April 15th and spring November 1st. 

Students must also submit and include �鶹��ý on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the NJ Alternative Application. 

Eligible students must be degree seeking, enrolled full-time (12 credits or more). Re-admitted or continuing students are not eligible. 

On the federal tax return (1040), adjusted gross income is located on line 11. It can also be located on the IRS Tax Transcript.

The family would have to submit documentation that verifies the amount of income their family receives to support themselves. This income that is verified through the FAFSA and/or through the NJ Alternative Application is acceptable. Additional documentation might be required. 

The �鶹��ý promise Grant covers tuition and fees. It does not cover room and board charges. 

�鶹��ý Promise Grant can be used for Study Abroad for programs that charge �鶹��ý tuition only.

If you cannot complete the FAFSA and are a New �鶹��ý resident complete the . The FAFSA must be received by �鶹��ý and cannot be rejected or invalid. If a student is chosen for verification or must submit documentation to secure their federal and state aid they must submit these documents.

The �鶹��ý Promise Grant covers the student until that have earned sixty credits. If a student is a New �鶹��ý Resident, they can then qualify if they meet hesaa requirement for the Garden State Guarantee Grant. If a student is not a new jersey resident, they can only receive the grant for up to two years or until they have earned sixty credits.

The �鶹��ý Promise Grant is renewal as long as FAFSA and/or NJ Alternative Application are completed each year by the priority deadline date of April 15th and document requirements are met. Students must meet the university satisfactory academic requirements and have a cumulative GPA of 2.3 or better. 

No, only students who are entering during the Fall 2024 semester and forward qualify to be considered for the �鶹��ý Promise Grant. 

I anticipated receiving tuition benefits from a different program outside of �鶹��ý will that affect my �鶹��ý promise Grant eligibility?

The �鶹��ý Promise Grant is nonrefundable. It does not replace outside tuition and fees assistance from other sources. If you have questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office to understand how the external aid can affect your awards.
