The Master of Science Degree in Accounting provides students with an opportunity to broaden and develop beyond the undergraduate level in accounting.  The student will address accounting issues using critical thinking, writing and analytical skills.  The program is designed to prepare students to integrate ethical principles into decision making, critically evaluate alternative solutions, articulate issues effectively, and solve complex business problems which are related to accounting. Our students have internship and job opportunities at PwC, Withum, SobelCo, and other firms.

The graduate program of study combined with the bachelor’s degree in accounting meets the current minimum educational requirements for the certified public accountant (CPA) license in New Â鶹´«Ã½. The CPA license is acknowledged internationally as a standard for accountants in public accounting and in the corporate environment. The CPA license is a valuable credential for career progression and for broadening professional skills and perspective.

Admission Requirements

  • The completion of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • The minimum requirement for admission to the MBA / MS programs is 3.0 GPA.
  • Must take Graduate Business Essentials in the first semester and attain a grade of B to continue in the MS or MBA program.
  • Business undergraduate majors with a GPA below 3.0 (2.75-2.99) must take the GMAT and attain a score of 560 (50th percentile) or better.
  • Students whose undergraduate GPA is between 2.75-2.99 will be considered for admission and matriculation with the following conditions:
  • Non-business majors must take Graduate Business Essentials in the first semester and attain a grade of B to continue in the MS or MBA program.
  • Meet all minimum requirements of the Graduate Studies Office. These requirements include: completed application; transcripts; recommendation letters; essay; resume; and GMAT test results. An interview may be requested.
  • Additional requirements for international students include: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test result, and Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE), or World Education Services (WES) evaluation of international transcripts.
  • Graduate courses from other institutions may be accepted with approval of the School of Business.
     

Graduate courses are available to students at the School of Business located at 200 Hudson Street, Harborside 2, Â鶹´«Ã½ City, New Â鶹´«Ã½, 07311, or Monmouth County, and online.
