Â鶹´«Ã½ Giving Tuesday 2022

JERSEY CITY, N.J. | (Â鶹´«Ã½) and the Â鶹´«Ã½ Foundation raised more than $45,000 in gifts from the Â鶹´«Ã½ community on November 29, 2022 during its annual #Â鶹´«Ã½GivingTuesday efforts.

#Â鶹´«Ã½GivingTuesday was once again a monumentally successful initiative and the Â鶹´«Ã½ community displayed its profound generosity as 141 donors contributed $45,391 — 13.5% higher than the stated campaign goal of $40,000.

Peter Hernandez, the Chair of the Â鶹´«Ã½ Foundation Board of Directors, said: “The Â鶹´«Ã½ Foundation is incredibly  grateful to all who continue to give to our university each year, including on Giving Tuesday, as we work to shape the lives of our amazing and talented  students. The generosity of our community has again exceeded our expectations and will have a profound impact on our students during a critical time in higher education. Thank you to everyone who contributed.â€

This year, the Â鶹´«Ã½ Foundation expects to award $901,000 in scholarships to 285 students, and the #Â鶹´«Ã½GivingTuesday campaign is the largest crowdfunding campaign that contributes to these outcomes. All proceeds benefit the Â鶹´«Ã½ Fund, which supports all areas of the University and enriches the experience for its students, but most prominently students’ immediate and greatest needs.

#Â鶹´«Ã½GivingTuesday impacts the core of the institution’s mission, which educates a population that no other four-year public institution in the state of New Â鶹´«Ã½ serves. The median household annual income of Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s students is $42,000 — the lowest of New Â鶹´«Ã½â€™s four-year public colleges by a considerable margin. In fact, the next closest peer institutions to Â鶹´«Ã½ in this metric are Kean University and William Paterson University at $76,300 and $84,600, respectively.

Individuals wishing to contribute to Â鶹´«Ã½ may still do so with a gift at .

Â鶹´«Ã½ Â鶹´«Ã½:
New Â鶹´«Ã½ City University is an institution of higher learning dedicated to the development of our students, our city, our communities, and our state. We are a game-changing force for our students and have been recognized as one of the top colleges in the nation improving their upward economic mobility. Whether enrolled in one of our undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral programs at our three locations, Â鶹´«Ã½ students have access to an affordable, diverse environment, and an exceptionally supportive faculty. This prepares them to go on to become the next generation of workers and leaders who improve their communities and the State of New Â鶹´«Ã½.

At Â鶹´«Ã½, we’re not just educating minds, we’re nourishing souls and lifting communities. We’re changing the game.
