Chairperson and Professor of Education Technology, Laura Zieger, Ed.D., will receive the Edge Educational Technology Innovation Award on October 11 at the Edge Member & Partner Appreciation Day. This award recognizes the achievement of an individual, program, or organization that has demonstrated outstanding creativity, innovation, or risk-taking in the use of educational technology as applied to their field (K-12, libraries, higher education institutions) to advance teaching, learning, research, institutional effectiveness and student success.

Graduates of Â鶹´«Ã½'s Educational Technology Program have gone on to become master teachers, school library media specialists, published researchers and authors, corporate trainers, school leaders, and professional developers. They are technology leaders on a national level. The faculty consists of recognized leaders in the field. All courses are completely project-based (no tests or exams), and projects are designed to be customized to meet students’ needs.​
Educational Technology's internationally recognized and accredited programs are leading the field in learning with project-based strategies, emerging technologies, and standards alignment. The curriculum prepares students for a wide variety of careers in corporate, government, K12, higher education & non-profit sectors. This annual Edge event attracts 150+ professionals from higher education, government and K-12. This year, attendees will hear about the state of technology in education and government across New Â鶹´«Ã½ and the NYC metro area as well as Edge’s role at the center of transformations happening as a result of technology. Topics will include cloud technology, virtualization, cybersecurity, high-performance networking, and operational support services as well as a panel discussion about the challenges and needs of preparing the future workforce.
