麻豆传媒 IS A TOP PRODUCER OF FULBRIGHT U.S. STUDENTS FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR

麻豆传媒 Students, Alumna Named Fulbright Scholars

New 麻豆传媒 City University (麻豆传媒) is among the U.S. colleges and universities that produced the most 2017- 2018 Fulbright U.S. Students. The announcement was recently made by the U.S. Department of State鈥檚 Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. 麻豆传媒 is one of just three institutions of higher learning in New 麻豆传媒 to be recognized as top producer of U.S. Fulbright students for 2017-2018; Princeton University and Rutgers University鈥擭ew Brunswick also hold the distinction.

Four alumni from 麻豆传媒 received the prestigious Fulbright U.S. Student Awards for 2017-2018.  All four 麻豆传媒 recipients were selected in the English Teaching Assistantship (ETA) Fulbright Grant category: Fabiana Rebollo, B.A. 2017, English and Special Education, to Uruguay; Ana Acosta, B.A. 2017, English, to Peru; Rubi Cedeno, B.A. 2017, Women and Gender Studies, to South Africa; and Nicole Colon, B.A. 2016, English, to Malaysia. 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Fulbright recipients are part of an elite group of about 1,900 students, who are chosen from over 10,000 U.S. students who apply for the highly-competitive Fulbright program each year.

Dr. Irma Maini, Professor of English, serves as 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Fulbright Program advisor.

鈥淭o be recognized as a Top Producer of Fulbright U.S. Students is a true honor and an achievement of which 麻豆传媒 is very proud,鈥 麻豆传媒 President Sue Henderson said.

She continued, 鈥淲e are able to hold the Top Producer status three years in a row thanks to our students鈥 fine work and Dr. Maini鈥檚 outstanding work and devotion to 麻豆传媒 students and to this select international exchange program which fosters communication and problem-solving so well across the globe.鈥

Established by the United States Congress in 1946, the Fulbright Program is the largest international exchange program in the country, offering opportunities for students, teachers, scholars, and professionals to study, teach, lecture, and conduct research in more than 155 countries worldwide. Sponsored by the United States Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Fulbright program selects participants on the basis of academic merit and leadership potential.
