To: All Graduate and Undergraduate Students
Greetings,
In the Fall 2022 semester, the university piloted a textbook program for students where books for each course were packaged for a flat fee per course and disbursed through Barnes & Noble.
Throughout the Fall semester, the Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management received and reviewed feedback regarding this program.
After considering the advocacy made by the Student Government Association, and input from students, faculty, and staff, it was determined that this pilot textbook program will not continue this spring.
Â鶹´«Ã½ would like to thank Barnes & Noble for working together on this pilot program. The university would also like to thank the Student Government Association for advocating for the concerns of our student body and to all faculty, staff, and students who offered feedback on this program.
Â鶹´«Ã½ will continue our original collaboration between and the School of Business First Day Access digital e-book platform. Students in the School of Business received the following information via their Â鶹´«Ã½ email last week. All other students may purchase or rent textbooks via the platforms that faculty will provide on each individual course syllabus.
Information for Students in the School of Business:
Several publishers, including , and , will give you access to your course materials electronically throughout all of their undergraduate and graduate programs, and virtually for all courses. Students will have access to their course materials upon opening their Blackboard account, with interactive and adaptive digital content, thereby reducing the cost to students.
Students enrolled in business-related courses with one or more of the following prefixes (ACCT, ECON, FINC, MKTG, MGMT) are automatically charged for inclusive access to course materials. This may appear on your tuition and fees billing.
For courses excluded from Inclusive Access, students will need to obtain any required textbooks or materials as identified by their instructor or faculty member and purchase them on their own.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jodi Bailey
